The adult moths of this species have dark brown with three white spots on each forewing. The hindwings are each yellow with a broad brown margin. The moths have a wingspan of about 3 cms.

The species is found in New Guinea and Queensland in Australia.

Burgena varia
( Guyana, 2002)

A similar species of the same name occurs in Guyana, but has yellow spots instead of white on the forewings, and red instead of yellow on the hindwings.
