The adult moth of this species has dark brown forewings, each with two white spots, and white hindwings. There is a bilobed crest of hairs at the front of the thorax which is white edged with brown.

The illustrated specimen was caught in Victoria. The moth was pictured at Illustration 12, Plate XCI, Hampson 1903-1913.
