The adult butterflies of this species are dark brown on top with several yellow patches on each forewing, and a single larger patch on each hindwing. Underneath, they are a paler patchy brown with the same yellow patches. The butterflies have a wingspan of about 2 cms.
The butterflies have been caught near Alice Springs in the Northern Territory.
