The Caterpillar feeds the foliage of :

  • Gum Trees ( Eucalyptus, MYRTACEAE ).

    The adult male and female moths are different in appearance. The female has brown forewings, and black hindwings with a broad orange margin. The male moth has transparent forewings, each with dark brown base and margin, and hindwings like those of the female: black with an orange margin. Both sexes have a wingspan of about 4 cms.

    The species is found in the south-eastern quarter of Australia.
