The Caterpillars of this species feed on the leaves of :

  • Mistletoe ( LORANTHACEAE ).

They pupate in a frass-covered cocoon in a rolled leaf tip of their foodplant.

The adults are rather lurid. Their wings are orange, with the forewings having red bases and purple wingtips. Sadly, the colours fade in museum specimens.

The moths have a wing span of about 2 cms. This specimen was found in Sydney.
