The Caterpillar is green with a white line along each side. It grows to a length of about 2 cms. It feeds on :
The pupa is green with a brown and white line along the back, and a pointed head. It has a length of about 1.5 cms. It is usually attached to the underside of a stem by cremaster and girdle.
The the wings of the male adult butterfly are yellow with a broad black border.

The upper wing surfaces of the female are white, with a similar broad black border.

The underside of the female is however yellow with a black border, like that of the male. Both sexes have a wingspan of about 3.5 cms.
The species is found over Indonesia, New Guinea, and in the north-east of Australia:
