The Caterpillars of this species have been found feeding on :

  • feathers lining the nests of wild birds, and
  • mammalian hair, particularly on dead carcases.

    The adult moth has fawn fore wings which each have a dark patch, and shiny buff hind wings. The moth has a wingspan of about 1.5 cms.
