about me (in the 3rd person)

Andrew is a musician and software developer living in Sydney, Australia. He completed a music performance degree at the Victorian College of the Arts in 1995 and has performed with several Australian symphony orchestras and a number of other ensembles. He has also worked in music theatre, playing principal trombone for the musicals 'Sunset Boulevard' and 'Les Miserables' in their Melbourne seasons.

Subsequently he has completed a Masters degree in Information Technology and in 2004 commenced work on a PhD investigating the design and use of software to support an experimental, exploratory approach to live music-making. The resulting audio-visual performance work for trombone and 'virtual musical instruments', Partial Reflections, co-created with Ben Marks, was premiered at the Sydney Opera House Studio in 2006.

Andrew currently holds the position of Lecturer in the Faculty of IT at the University of Technology, Sydney.
