Computer Science Third Year Advanced Software Development (COMP3809) Projects 1999

doan_SNMP_ATM: Simple Network Management Manager for an ATM switch

The project aims to implement an SNMP manager for an ATM switch. It involves implementing a complete set of functionality of a manager for managing an IBM ATM Switch. It also involves the design and implementation of a GUI for the manager.

Supervisor: Doan Hoang

doan_OO_Wireless: Object-Oriented Network Simulator for Wireless/Mobile Protocol Simulation

The project aims to design and implement an OO Network Simulator which employs OO concepts, Discrete Event Simulation. The simulator is tailored to Wireless/Mobile Protocol Simulation. An example of OO Network Simulator for ATM is available as the starting point.

Supervisor: Doan Hoang

doan_Int_Internet: New Design Concepts for an Intelligent Internet

The project aims to investigate security requirements, performance efficiency and operational simplicity in a high-speed network environment. An implementation is required at the end of the project. Individuals or groups of two are acceptable.

Supervisor: Doan Hoang

doan_OO_Web: Object-Oriented Web Application Development

The project aims to investigate an object-oriented model for Web applications that abstract from the Web implementations model and gives developers the power of OO concepts for constructing reusable frameworks. An implementation of a framework is required at the end of the project. Individuals or groups of two are acceptable

doan_TCP_Explicit: Analysis of TCP connection over Explicit Rate congestion control

This project is for those who are interested in theory. To rectify TCP congestion control for high-speed network, we are exploring the application of explicit feedback information to TCP control mechanism, making it more responsive to network conditions. The project aims to analyse the behaviour of TCP connection over an ATM Explicit Rate Congestion Control mechanism.
