These caterpillars are reported to feed on:

  • Sleepy Morning ( Waltheria americana, MALVACEAE or STERCULIACEAE ).

    The adult moths have forewings which have basal half yellow, and the marginal half red or brown, as there is some variation in colour. The wingspan is about 3.5 cms.

    The species occurs from southern Africa to the Pacific, including:

  • Fiji,
  • Hong Kong,
  • India,
  • Japan,
  • Society Island,
  • Swaziland,
  • Taiwan,
  • Thailand,
    as well as
  • northern New South Wales, and
  • Queensland in Australia.
