This Caterpillar is brown and hairy, with two narrow pencils of black hairs projecting from the thorax. It feeds on the foliage of :

  • Gum Trees ( Eucalyptus, MYRTACEAE ).

    The adult male and female moths are quite different in appearance. The female is pale brown, with a subterminal arc of dark dots on each forewing. The female has a wingspan of about 6 cms. The male moth has a bold pattern of light and dark brown. The male has a wingspan of about 4 cms.

    The species is found in the south-eastern quarter of Australia.
