This adult moth has a hairy red body with a pale plume of hairs on its tail and pale hairs on the thorax and head. The wings are basically buff coloured, with zig-zag brown markings on the forewings, and orange hairs beside the body on the hind wings. It has a wingspan of about 5 cms.
