My research

Since September 2008, I am working as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Imperial College London, and at the same time am an Honorary Associate of University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) .

At Imperial College, I am working in Maja Pantic 's HCI^2 research group on the European Union (EU-FP7) project called Semaine . The Semaine project aims to build a multimodal dialogue system which can interact with humans with a virtual character, sustain an interaction with a user for some time, and react appropriately to the user's non-verbal behaviour. The ultimate goal of the project is to build a robust interactive system perceiving a human user's facial expression, gaze, and voice, and engaging with the user through an Embodied Conversational Agent's body, face and voice.

From December 2006 to September 2008, I was a Postdoctoral Research Associate for University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) and iOmniscient Pty Ltd , working on an Australian Research Council (ARC) funded Linkage Project that aimed to track humans in crowded areas and recognize abadoned objects (e.g., bag, trolley etc.) in places such as train stations or airports. My current position at UTS involves actively observing and participating in research conducted within the Faculty of Engineering and IT (FEIT).
