My research

Currently, I am working on my PhD research project titled "iNformed decision- mAking model for RoutinG managEment in a communicationS network” (NARGES)
 The work of my thesis addresses the issue of defining a DM model for packet switching in the communications network. In particular, we focus on decision- making for smart routing management, which is based on the knowledge provided by data mining (informed) agents. The main idea behind this work and related research projects is that the significant kinds of outliers in time series sequences of network performance traces, with periodical patterns, can be used as superlative anomaly and failure detectors in the network. In this project, we restrict our attention to find patterns that are useful for real-time routing decision-making and the way data mining knowledge can be used for this purpose.

Employment History

  • UTS, Research Student, 1/2007 - Current
  • Kishware Ltd., Expert of Card System, 2/2005 - 7/2006
  • I. Azad University, Head of Supporting Group, 9/1999 - 2/2005

Detailed Career History

KISHWARE LIMITED February 2005 - July 2006
WWW.KISHWARE.COM

Kishware Limited is a leading financial institution specializing in programming and supporting financial software for POS's, ATM's, ICC (Smart Cards) and banking GUI's such as NEGIN. They are now exporting financial software to other countries and as such
, are also responsible for international transactions.

Key Responsibilities:
۞ Systems Administrator/Maintainer, Including Level 1 of maintenance
o ICC Card, NEGIN (banking software), POS and ATM software maintenance (including Ingenico POS's and NCR ATM's).
o ORACLE Maintenance and DBA using ORACLE 9i Release 2/10g

Achievements: During my employment I was responsible for account managing our largest client, ANSAR Financial Institution. This was one of the biggest software projects of POS, both for their branches and their merchants. This project was managed
and accomplished in less than 1 year. This included recognizing and correcting NEGIN and ATM system bugs and resulted in
the addition of two new contracts (each $US 600000) with ANSAR for the following two years.

Reason for leaving: Immigration to Australia

AZAD UNIVERSITY (IAU) September 1999 - February 2005
WWW.IAU.IR

Azad University is a large private university and CICT is the department responsible for the development of software and
preparing statistical information, which is needed in the University.

Key Responsibilities:
۞ Systems Support & Troubleshooting Manager, CICT Department (02/2003 - 02/2005)
o Supporting software systems in FOXPRO;
o Network and internet maintenance, support and troubleshooting;
o Director of the Installations group, (Windows, Novell and Linux OS's and software);
o Manager of the development and maintenance team (using Developer 2000 tools 6.0.5(PL/SQL Programming))

۞ Programming Team Leader & ORACLE DBA, Mechanization Project (03/2002 - 10/2002)
o Manager of a team of 12 (programmer, analyst and systems Designer) in the analysis and design of systems using ORACLE Designer using CDM.
o Coding of applications (using Developer 2000 tools 6.0.5 (PL/SQL Programming)).
o Installing and Administration of the ORACLE systems in the real business environment.

۞ Systems Maintainer/Network Administrator & ORACLE DBA, Mechanization Project (09/1999 - 02/2003)
o Installing OS's such as Windows NT 4.x, Windows 2K, Windows XP, etc.
o Setting up network and client applications.
o Coding PL/SQL on ORACLE using Developer 2000 6.0.5(PL/SQL Programming).
o Maintaining ORACLE Database systems (ORACLE 805/8i);
o Network administration (LAN NT4/4.1/MS WIN 2000).

Achievements: By analysing, designing and implementing one of the biggest mechanization software projects in the IAU, the University could save up to $US 300 000, otherwise it had to pay for purchasing an integrated software system from private companies in order to stop fraud within its financial systems. The time cost for this project was also less than those planned by
the turnkey private companies and as such the completion of this project was of great benefit to the University.

Reason for leaving: After the completion of the project, including the starting of system maintenance and teaching new
maintainers for the system, I preferred to leave IAU and begin another opportunity in a different environment in order to update
my skills and knowledge
