Summary

 

I have a wide ranging career in Teaching &Research, Industry and consultancy and currently as a Lecturer at a leading Australian University. After graduating with Computer Engineering, I started my career as a Network Engineer for a short period of one year and then came into teaching profession since 1991. I held various positions at different Universities during my last 16 years of Teaching.

 

Career

 

·         January 2001 – Present: Lecturer in the Faculty of Engineering and IT at University of Technology, UTS, Australia. Current Research interests are Internet QoS, Policy Based Network Management and Design of intelligent network architecture. I am also an active member of the Research group, Research Centre for Innovation in IT Services and Applications iNEXT. I was awarded Ph.D in February 2008 (completed January 2007). My Ph.D. Supervisor was Dr. Andrew James Simmonds and my thesis topic was “A Three-layer Policy Based Architecture Supporting Internet QoS”. Presently I am also serving as a steering committee member of IPv6 work group in Australia’s Academic and Research Network (AARNET).

 

·         January 2004 – May 2004: Visiting Professor and Researcher, School of Computer Science and Engineering, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, USA. Taught Computer Networks at Graduate level and Research collaboration with Researchers at the Digital Technology Centre. 

 

·         September 1999 – January 2001: Associate Lecturer in the School of Computer Science and Engineering at University of New South Wales, UNSW, Australia.

 

·         September 1998 – September 1999: Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Regional Engineering College, Rourkela, India (Presently National Institute of Technology).

 

·         September 1991 – September 1998: Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Regional Engineering College, Rourkela, India (Presently National Institute of Technology).

 

·         December 1990 – August 1991: Network Engineer at CMS Computers Ltd., Bombay, India working for various Banks and Airlines managing their network infrastructure.
